The Hub named Business of the Month by Iowa SBDC
The Hub was chosen for this prestigious award at the end of 2019 and formally presented with the award in January of 2020. The state of Iowa has over 1,500 small businesses that get nominated each month for this award and can only choose 12 businesses annually.
“We are proud to be acknowledged for our hard work in Council Bluffs.” said our owner Brooke Hubbard, “Having a family entertainment center for Southwest Iowa families to enjoy has been extremely rewarding. We hosted over 200 birthday parties and 20 school private field trips in 2019 and are excited to see what 2020 will bring. Giving kids and families a local option with a clean, safe and fun environment is a priority for all of us.”
Businesses are chosen based on several factors – recent success in their industry, their development and the impact they have on the community.
“Brooke is among the best entrepreneurs I have worked with.” Said Sue Pitts, regional director of the Iowa Western SBDC. “She has passion, ideas and follow-through. It has been fun working with her and watching the success of The Hub.”
That passion and follow-through is continuing to show in 2020. Our businesses at The Hub plan to offer new fun and exciting activities and attractions to the community this year. There is no doubt the addition of the Ninja Warrior Course has been a hit since it opened back in December. We could not wait to offer that same amount of excitement to younger kids, so we opened up the Jr. Ninja Warrior Course this past month, with eight daring obstacles for "Jr." warriors!
Our Jumping Monkeys Childcare is another area that will see great expansion this year. Currently our childcare accepts kids ages 18 months to five years old. In late 2020, we will open up a new childcare room for infants! This will help us accommodate families with multiple children under the age of 5. Plus, our Cheer facility will soon “officially” announce big changes!
Thank you Iowa Small Business Development Center for this acknowledgement, and thank you to our community for supporting The Hub, and our businesses.
